Georgia Supreme Court: POLICE CANNOT MAKE TRAFFIC ARRESTS OUTSIDE THEIR JURISDICTIONS

The Georgia Supreme Court issued a unanimous ruling in favor of a Kennesaw State University student that was stopped and subsequently arrested by a KSU Police Officer outside of the officer's jurisdiction.

The Justices held that it was illegal for the campus police officer to stop the student and charge him with Driving Under the Influence of alcohol when the stop occurred 500 yards off school property.
